Member means an entity incorporated in Australia whose name is entered in the Register as a member of First Voice and is an organisation who can demonstrate it:

• provides listening and spoken language programs similar to First Voice members; and
• seeks to further develop their programs to reflect evidence-based best practice in listening and spoken language early intervention; and
• has acceptable governance and financial practices.

To become a Member, an application must be made to the Board and (a) the organisation is confirmed as eligible for Member status; (b) endorsed by not less than two Board members; and (c) approved by the Board. A Member shall then be recorded as a member on First Voice’s Member Register and will have voting rights in general meetings and otherwise as per the First Voice Constitution.

 

 

Organisational Affiliate means an organisation incorporated in Australia that can demonstrate it:

• provides a listening and spoken language program(s) similar to First Voice members; and/or
• seeks to further develop their programs to reflect evidence-based best practice in listening and spoken language early intervention; and
• has acceptable governance and financial practices.

To become an Organisational Affiliate, an application must be made to the Board and (a) the organisation is confirmed as eligible for Organisational Affiliate status; (b) endorsed by not less than two Board members; and (c) approved by the Board.

First Voice welcomes affiliations, collaborations and relationships with overseas-based organisations that have a similar listening and spoken language approach to supporting children with hearing loss.

International Affiliate means an organisation based in a country other than Australia and demonstrates it:

• provides listening and spoken language programs similar to First Voice members; and/or
• seeks to further develop their programs to reflect evidence-based best practice in listening and spoken language early intervention.
• has good governance and financial practices.

To become an International Affiliate, an application must be made to the Board and (a) the organisation is confirmed as eligible for International Affiliate status; (b) endorsed by not less than two Board members; and (c) approved by the Board.

Individual Affiliate means an individual person who is, or has been, connected with or practising a listening and spoken language early intervention approach including but not restricted to auditory verbal therapist, teacher, speech therapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, psychologist, counsellor, administrator, academic, researcher or other related professional capacity. An Individual Affiliate must commit to the First Voice mission through the advancement of evidence-based best practice in the delivery of listening and spoken language approaches to supporting children with hearing loss and their families.

To become an Individual Affiliate, an application must be made to the Board and (a) the person is confirmed as eligible for Individual Affiliate status; (b) endorsed by not less than two Board members; and (c) approved by the Board.

Membership as an Individual Affiliate will not be granted to individuals in lieu of organisations eligible for Member, Organisational Affiliate, or International Affiliate status.
